One of the greatest days of my life was when I spent the day at beach in Rhode Island with my girlfriend. Misquamicut beach is one of the most popular beaches in the north east. Everything about it screams fun. But the main reason I had such a spectacular time was not because it was one of the best beaches in the north east, but rather I was able to spend the whole day with the girl I loved doing things that we both really enjoyed. We left our town at nine in the morning and the car ride up was awesome. We listened to music, sang along with our favorite songs, and just enjoyed each other’s company. At the beach we were like little kids again. We grabbed our boggie boards and jumped into the water. The chilly and seaweed filled water did stop either of us from having a blast. The waves were small and hard to ride but we made it work none the less. The rest of our day at the beach consisted of her poking fun at me for digging a whole (she said I was like a five year old), going back into the water, and laying next to each other on the beach and just talking. When we finally left the beach, and started driving down the road home. But instead of going home, we decided to go to my favorite pizza place, Pepe’s pizza. A new one just opened up in the Mohegan Casino which was about a half hour away. Arriving there and waiting for our pizza, all I could think about was how beautiful she was and how much I loved just being with her. We did not need to go to expensive restaurants or expensive day trips, all we wanted was to be together. It wasn’t about going to places that we both really liked (she loved the beach I loved pepe’s) it was just about being with people that you love that makes everything great. That day, although it was simple, it was fun, amazing, and one of the coolest experiences of my life, and I would never want to trade it for anything. If an opportunity arises to ever take a step back and just enjoy someone’s company, take it because it seems that those days are the greatest, and when you look back on them, you will be happy that you took the chance to spend more time with someone who is important to you.
