It was a day to remember. We’ve just arrived in Chicago. It was raining and my first impression was that there was something in the air.

“Even the air is different here” – I said to Gaga, my friend which came with me in the States.

“I noticed. And I really hope that I can smoke a cigarette here.” – She said while taking the cigarettes out of her pocket. I made a small note that she should stop smoking during our stay here because it was too expensive habit.

“I don’t know what to do. Back home, you can buy three packs of cigarettes for a price of one.” – She was disappointed. Tobacco is cheap in our country. But we were not home.

“You’ll stop smoking.” – I smiled because I knew it was not so easy.
“Maybe I will, but starting from tomorrow. Today I am not ready. ” – I realized she will spend more money on cigarettes than on food here.

“I hope the bus is coming. I have a strange feeling that I am doing something great for myself” – I changed the topic.

We were still in front of the airport waiting for our bus to Madison. I was extremely excited and I couldn’t wait to see the city. We didn’t have time to stay in Chicago but that was not important. The flight was long enough so we had time to make same planes and we surly planned to came in Chicago.
Suddenly I saw that Gaga was not Ok.
“You look pale. What is wrong?” – I asked.

“I lost my passport. What should I do now?” – She said quietly but I realized that she was not aware what just happened.

“Please check once again and don’t panic”- I tried to control the situation but it was impossible. She checked everywhere. Her passport was lost.

Immediately, I came up with many ideas. We had to catch a plane to New York and go to our embassy. That was the best plan. On the other side, we had to go in Madison and start with our work. I didn’t know what do to but I knew that we had to be quick and effective. I looked at her. She was scared to death. It was logical, we were miles away from home, we had just arrived and she lost her documents. I couldn’t believe what was happening.

“Maybe we should come in and ask. Maybe you still have a chance to find it.” – I gave an idea.

She was quiet, pale and disoriented. Her cigarette was on the ground, her sunglasses too. She was checking her purse again; but nothing.
Unexpectedly, a woman from the airport appeared right in front of us.

“Is this yours madam?” – She asked politely.
“No.” – Gaga replied.

She was shocked and she couldn’t even see that the woman was holding HER PASSPORT.
I was overjoyed, I took it and I said the best regards that I could thought of.

“If this is our first day, I can’t imagine the last” – I said and hug my Gaga.
